Being an Altar.
Fasting and Prayer Guide by Prophetess Genesis Hilda
This is a sacred day, set apart for fasting, prayer, and consecration unto the Lord. It is a day of sanctification, purification, and sacrifice. Even as we gather in His name, let us focus on dedicating ourselves wholly to God, for His glory and His purposes.
Key Teachings by Prophetess Genesis Hilda
1. Consecrating the Day Unto the Lord
The day of fasting is a day wholly set apart for the Lord. It is a day of sacrifice, sanctification, and purification. We drink only water until Friday morning, after the 3 AM prayers. Those on medication or unable to fast due to health conditions should refrain from this fast.
Key Insight:
Fasting is not just about abstaining from food; it is about consecrating yourself to God, separating yourself from worldly distractions, and dedicating the day to prayer, meditation, and worship.
2. The Fire on the Altar Must Keep Burning
God commands that the fire on the altar be kept burning continuously. This fire symbolizes our passion and devotion to Him. When the fire dies, it signifies spiritual complacency, disconnection, and a loss of intimacy with God.
Prophetic Example:
The strength of your altar is your consecration. When we live holy and consecrated lives, the fire of God burns brightly on our altar. In contrast, sin, distractions, and worldly engagements can extinguish this fire.
Scripture Reference:
“Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continuously; it shall not go out.” (Leviticus 6:13)
3. Human Beings as Altars
As individuals, we are living altars for God. An altar is a sacred place where divinity meets humanity—a place of communion with God. To be a pure altar for God, we must avoid spiritual defilement.
Prophetic Insight:
- Relationships and associations matter because some people carry ungodly altars. Be mindful of the people you engage with, as they can influence your spiritual state.
- An example from Scripture is Jacob’s encounter with an open heaven at Bethel. Unknown to him, his grandfather Abraham had previously raised an altar there. This altar created a gateway to heaven.
Scripture Reference:
“Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart.” (Psalm 24:3-4)
4. Spiritual Gates and Open Heavens
Every altar acts as a gate—either to heaven or to demonic realms. Godly altars invite heavenly blessings, while ungodly altars become access points for evil spirits.
Prophetic Example:
- Abraham’s altar created an open heaven, allowing Jacob to encounter God’s angels ascending and descending.
- However, engaging with ungodly individuals can lead to spiritual contamination, as their altar acts as a gate for demonic activity.
5. The Shekinah Glory and Physical Manifestations of God
The Shekinah Glory refers to the visible manifestation of God’s presence. When you dwell in the presence of God through prayer and fasting, His glory can become tangible in your life.
Prophetic Testimony:
Prophetess Hilda shared an experience where her room was filled with a cloud of smoke after extended prayer and fasting. This Shekinah Glory manifested visibly for three days, demonstrating the evidence of God’s presence.
Scripture Reference:
“When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, he did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God.” (Exodus 34:29)
6. Consecration and Its Power
Consecration is the foundation of a powerful spiritual life. It involves separating yourself from sin and dedicating every aspect of your life to God. Without consecration, even prayer and fasting can become ineffective.
Prophetic Insight:
Witch doctors consecrate themselves to demonic spirits through rituals and sacrifices, which amplifies their power in the demonic realm. How much more should believers consecrate themselves to the living God to host His presence and carry His power?
Scripture Reference:
“Be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16)
7. Avoiding Spiritual Defilement
Spiritual defilement occurs when you engage in sin or associate with ungodly people and activities.
Prophetic Example:
An individual who began selling alcohol at a party became spiritually defiled and later faced public humiliation through theft accusations. Such incidents open doors for spiritual attacks and further sin.
Key Insight:
Anything unclean can corrupt your spiritual life. Avoid activities and environments that contradict your consecration to God.
8. Living in the Presence of God
The presence of God is not confined to a building or specific location. It is a spiritual dimension where believers can operate continuously. Once you enter the presence of God, you should remain there and grow deeper in it.
Prophetic Guidance:
Worship songs like “I Surrender All” and “Holy is the Lamb” usher believers into deeper dimensions of God’s presence. Worship should focus entirely on glorifying Jesus and leading others to Him.

Meditation Scriptures
Joel 2:15-17
“Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders, gather the children, those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her chamber. Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the portico and the altar. Let them say, ‘Spare your people, Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, “Where is their God?”‘
James 4:7-8
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
Psalm 24:3-6
“Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob.”
Psalm 51:1-13
“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight… Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
Psalms 139:23-24
“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
Romans 12:1-2
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Colossians 3:2-8
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.”
Ephesians 1:15-19
“For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.”
Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
Ephesians 5:8-9
“For you were once in darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth).”
Proverbs 11:30
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives.”
Isaiah 48:17
“This is what the Lord says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.’”
John 10:4-5
“When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”
Isaiah 30:21
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”
Psalm 37:23
“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him.”
Matthew 13:18-23
“Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Psalm 25:4-5
“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”
Psalm 119:18
“Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.”
Isaiah 10:27
“In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders, their yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken because you have grown so fat.”
Mark 11:23-24
“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Zechariah 10:1
“Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who makes the storm clouds. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone.”
Romans 10:13-15
“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”
